Brahmatal Trek Overview

Brahmatal is a lake in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, where Lord Brahma is believed to have meditated. It’s a popular winter trekking destination with panoramic views of Himalayan peaks like Trishul, Nandaghunti, Chaukhamba, and others. The trek also offers views of the Roopkund trail and landscapes like Ali Bugyal and Bedni Bugyal.

The trek passes through forests of conifer, cedar, rhododendron, oak, and fir. The base camp is in Lohajung, a town with rich mythology and local culture. The trek is 22 km long, takes 6 days, and is of easy to moderate difficulty, reaching a maximum altitude of 12,250 feet (3,735 meters). The pick-up and drop-off point is Rishikesh.
